Volvo S80 offers excellent safety engineering, a smooth ride, a quiet cabin,
and roomy, luxurious accommodations. The 2008 2009 2009 S80's closest competitors
include the Acura 3.2 TL, the Jaguar S-Type, and the Volkswagen Phaeton. Upon
introduction, the 2.9 is equipped with a standard 2.9-liter, I6,
194-horsepower engine that achieves 20-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on the
highway. The T6 Premier is equipped with a standard 2.9-liter, I6,
268-horsepower, turbo engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on
the highway. A 4-speed automatic
transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims. The 2008 2009 2009 Volvo S80 is a
carryover from 2003.

| 2008 2009 Volvo S80 engines are transversely mounted to provide good weight distribution and chassis balance, and a roomy passenger compartment. The engines are designed for high torque at low and medium engine speeds to guarantee good response and acceleration in normal driving conditions. The doors and trunk lid can be locked easily and safely while traveling, as the central locking system can be operated using a button on the door panel on the driver's side. The central-locking remote control includes a number of functions for safety and convenience, including a button to open the trunk separately. The remote-control radio signal has a rolling code. It is changed every time a button is pressed. This prevents unauthorized copying of the code. Only the driver's door has a mechanical lock cylinder. It is designed in such a way that it rotates if someone attempts to open the lock with anything but the correct key. |
