Review of 2011 Saab 9-4x

Posted on: August 22, 2011 | In Saab

With Saab being in the news recently on the verge of bankruptcy and unable to pay their part suppliers, most people are counting out the new 2011 Saab 9-4x. However, are they in the right to do this? There are a few things about the SUV that people are not liking at all, which is pointing to the fact that Saab is on the verge of losing it all. But, there are still a few characteristics that professionals in the field are pointing out that they like. Most people are automatically going to think that the Saab 9-4x looks exactly like the Cadillac SRX crossover, and they would not be wrong in this thinking, as the two do share some characteristics that are very similar. However, the characteristics that they share are mainly on the exterior of the SUV and is not something that people are going to find as a suitable alternative to the Cadillac. So what about the Saab 9-4x are people liking?

saab 9 4x 8 4e376c9ae9249 300x221 Review of 2011 Saab 9 4x

Most people are stating that the crossover has some of the best handling that can be found anywhere on the market. They find that in tight turns the Saab is holding its own, while still allowing the person to feel as though they are always in control. Which is something that many SUV's on the market are lacking. People are also pointing out that the fact that there are many features about the Saab that is making it stand out against a crowd. They find that many of the buttons and features that are located on the interior are derived from it's GM days, however, Saab has made them unique and something that cannot be found in other models that are out there. So with that being said, most people would assume that the Saab 9-4x is something that they should consider, however, they have yet to hear just why so many people are dismissing the crossover.

One of the biggest complaints about the model is the fact that the headroom on the crossover is limited and those that are fairly tall are going to find that it is very uncomfortable to be sitting in the crossover for very long. Add into the fact that most people are ready to point out that the acceleration of the model is something that leaves a lot lacking. They are going to find that when put up against similar models that the Saab is going to be the last in line to cross the finish line, despite the fact that it has a turbo V6 available in some models. So is the Saab 9-4x something that people should consider when they are wanting to find a good crossover SUV to drive?

Most people are going to completely discourage the person from buying such a model. The reason for this is that no one knows what the future of Saab holds. Thus, those that buy the new version may find that in a year's time the company no longer exists. This is something that is extremely risky and the person really has some competition to this model that would be a better buy.

Saab Issues Recalls

Posted on: January 25, 2011 | In News

Saab can now add its name to the long list of automakers who had recalled their vehicles in the past few months. Saab is recalling around 4,400 vehicles because of an issue with the engine stalling. The recall is affecting specific 2010 and 2011 models of the 9-3 sedans. Those sedans that are being affected were built between the months of June to October in 2010.

The recall is said to be put into effect because the Saab company realized that there was a problem with engines stalling. However, according to the company there has been no accidents, injuries or deaths that have occurred from the recall. Saab found that the problem is with the fuel pump that is shutting itself off, allowing now fuel to get to the engine, which in turn causes the car to stall.

This stalling could affect many of those that drive the vehicle, especially if the car is being driven down the road or stopped at a stop light in a small town. A rear end collision would be an easy accident to have with this kind of problem. Though, Saab has caught the problem relatively early, which should save their reputation with their customers.

The recall is going to be announced to each customer that is being affected. They should be receiving letters in the mail informing them of the recall and where they can take the sedan to be fixed. Saab is going to cover the expense that is associated with the recall that will require mechanics to replace the defective fuel pumps in the cars. However, the recalls are not set to start until around February 18th when they are first going to start notifying customers with the affected cars. For those that are worried that their car is unfit to drive, they can call Saab directly and find out the risks and hazards, as well as when they can expect to have the problem fixed.

2011 Saab 9 3

2011 Saab 9 3 is completely redesigned and re-engineered, transforming the once quirky-looking hatchback into an honest contender in the sports sedan category. The 2011 2011 Saab 9 3 is available in three trim levels. The 2011 2011 Saab 9 3 is powered by a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 175 horsepower. A 210-hp 2.0-liter engine that uses a high-output turbocharger powers the Arc and Aero sedans. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on the Linear and Arc sedans; Saab’s Sentronic five-speed automatic is optional and features semi-manual gear selection. The Aero sedan sports a six-speed manual; the five-speed automatic on the Aero features steering wheel-mounted shift paddles. Standard equipment on the Arc models includes no-charge scheduled maintenance during warranty; automatic climate control; cruise control; power windows, door locks and outside mirrors; a 150-watt stereo with CD player and seven speakers; power front seats with driver memory; and front fog lights.

The 2011 Saab 9 3 top merges cleanly with the car’s lines, retaining all the proper proportions and relationships with windshield, wheel openings and wedge profile. With the top down and tucked away beneath the solid tonneau cover, the rake of the windshield draws the eye naturally over the passenger area to the tonneau behind the rear seat head restraints that tapers into the trunk lid. The soft top features a glass rear window with a defogger. Big, oval-shaped, open-grip door handles are finger friendly and integrate well into the design. Conspicuously absent from those door handles are keyholes. Yes that’s right, Saab has done away with a key for normal entry of the car. Instead one has to rely on the remote key fob. But don’t worry; if it ceases to function there is a back up key buried in the key fob and a hidden keyhole in the driver’s door only. saab 9 31 2011 Saab 9 3The 2011 Saab 9 3 interior is pretty much what one would expect in a near-luxury convertible, although certain Saab styling cues remain. The instruments are arrayed in an easy-to-view layout with a big speedometer in a sweeping instrument panel that blends into the center console. It’s still a relatively high dashboard compared to that in most other cars, but it’s long been a signature styling cue of Saab cars so it’s nice to see it retained. The buttons and switches are smaller than in many cars. Nonetheless they are all well placed for the driver to reach while driving. An extra set of warning gauges is mounted on top of the dashboard in the center in a small pod, locating them more directly in the driver’s line of sight. Radio settings are also displayed here. The front seats are firm but comfortable, with side bolsters that restrain during spirited motoring without restricting while climbing in and out.
