Automakers To Air Commercials During Super Bowl

With the Super Bowl coming up in a few days, everyone is eager to see the commercials that will be aired during the time slot, as these commercials have been known to be award winning. Many automakers have purchased thirty second time slots in order to air their commercial, costing them around $3 million or more. However, will this investment pay off? 

 

This year, analysts are expecting viewers in record numbers to watch the Super Bowl and the commercials that are aired during the event. There is going to be around nine brands that will be pitching their ads during the Super Bowl, which is some kind of record of its own. However, automakers are desperate to get consumers back into the auto market and purchasing vehicles due to the slow economy and sales that have affected all automakers. 

 

A lot of time and research goes into these commercials. Audi filmed six different commercials and then tested these on audiences to figure out which was the best to air during the Super Bowl. While GM is entering into the Super Bowl commercial market for the first time this year. VW is also participating with their commercial that has the reminiscence of Star Wars with their new Passat. 

 

Mercedes-Benz and BMW are both airing commercials during the Super Bowl and are hoping that their commercials will bring more consumers to choose their brand over the competition. But, what can viewers expect with these commercials? 

Most of the time, Super Bowl commercials use elements of story telling along with humor. However, with the auto commercials that are going to be making their appearance during this years Super Bowl time, consumers can expect that the commercials will feature their newest car in order to entice viewers to seek out a test drive and possible go home with one of these. They will more than likely also include some enticing incentives to increase consumer interest.
