Best Buy to Sell Electric Vehicles

For those fresh automakers looking to put their EV on the market, or for the consumers in the world that are looking for the newest electric vehicle, then they may have to look no farther than their local Best Buy. The store has expressed interest in offering EV's as part of their store merchandise. After all, they are offering the chargers that people will need for these, why not offer the EV itself?

So what would be the benefits of an EV company going with Best Buy? Consider a few aspects. First, Best Buy has already been awarded contracts that allows them to install the home charging systems in the home of those that buy EV cars, specifically the Ford Focus Electric and the Mitsubishi I EV's. Therefore, the first benefit is that the person can get everything that they need right in one place. Secondly, consider the fact that Best Buy sees more consumers walk through their doors in a weekend than most dealers see the entire month at their dealership. This is giving these EV cars much more attention than they would get otherwise. And are these things that manufacturers are considering since it could mean the take off of their car.

Best Buy has stated that they are already in talks with several EV producing companies, however they have not mentioned specifically who these companies are. They have said that talks seem to be going good and they are still hopeful that they can make this dream a reality. So what are people thinking, would they buy an EV from Best Buy?

It's hard to say, but Best Buy is known to have some of the experts in the field working for them, it just could be that consumers would be much more willing to look at these cars with an 'expert' with them instead of going to a dealer and feeling like they are being forced into something.
