Concept Cars Make Splash at 2010 LA Auto Show

The 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show was the place that many automakers unveiled their concept cars. Probably the most highly debated concept car at the show was the Nissan Ellure. Many professionals loved the way Nissan was taking the concept car to the next level, while others thought the concept was simply weak. The concept car had a more sportier feel to it, as the design of the car is made to be more air dynamic. The interior of the car is surprising, and Nissan says that it was designed with females in mind for their comfort and their smaller body frames.

Cadillac also revealed their concept car, the Cadillac Urban Luxury Concept. The concept car is smaller than what most people usually think of when they think the brand Cadillac, as Cadillac is hoping this car will appeal to a new demographic. Probably the most significant, and coolest aspect of the car according to many, is that the doors pull out and upwards, giving a science fiction feel to the concept car. Despite the smallness of the car, the interior has a depth to it that gives a much bigger feel that what you would expect with a car this small.

The Ford Explorer also made its first public appearance at the 2010 LA Auto Show. The most significant aspect of this vehicle is that unlike the traditional Ford Explorer the vehicle is mounted on a car platform, rather than a truck. This does give the vehicle a slightly smaller appearance. Most people are comparing the idea behind the new Ford Explorer to compete with SUV's that are designed by Mazda. Most are considered this more of a wagon than an SUV simply because it is lower to the ground. The interior of the vehicle was something of a disappointment for many. However, it is a very sleek design put many wonder if the many touch button features in the vehicle would be a frustration to drivers while wearing gloves in the winter time.

Overall, the concept cars displayed at the show were a hit, with many commenting on the new designs and creativity that the automakers are exhibiting.
