Enhancements on 2011 Dodge Avenger
Another day and a brand new car, in this case, the next Dodge Avenger. The 2011 Dodge Avenger will be overhauled with an entirely new interior, an improved suspension, minor exterior facelift and better powertrain options.
In contrast to Chrysler 200, the new Avenger gets only a few exterior tweaks, the redesigned front bumper, a couple of new LED tail lamps and split crosshair grille.
The big styling enhancements are found at the interior where the Avenger uses higher-grade materials and gets contemporary design. Dodge claims that the car is more pleasing both to the touch and the eye. Another highlight include a stylish sports steering wheel with integrated controls for hands-free phone, cruise control, radio, and other car functions, and the inclusion of voice command features for managing hands-free phones and a new color scheme for the interior.
Moving on to the suspension and mechanical upgrades, the company specifies that its engineers have redesigned or retuned most of the suspension parts, including many of the suspension bushings. The car also gets a wider track (+1-in.) and wider tires, while it rides 6mm lower at the rear and 12mm lower in the front. Dodge says these changes improve stability by reducing shake and body roll and provide higher steering accuracy. The 2011 Dodge Avenger gets a recalibrated 2.4l four-cylinder engine paired to a new smoother six-speed transmission.
The facelifted 2011 Dodge Avenger will be available in the United States at winter 2010.
