When shopping around for car and the parts that go to these cars, the person will find that they have several choices. Some of the places will offer both cars and parts, while other places are going to focus solely on one or the other. Depending on what the person needs, they will find that they have several options.

Dealerships

These are the most common places that the people can use to find the car of their dreams. And they offer some great benefits, but do have some drawbacks:

  1. The person will find that if they do not have the car in question that they can usually find a way to get it for the person if they are seriously interested
  2. The person will have the opportunity to look at the car and drive it when they use a dearerships
  3. The price of these cars is usually inflated in order to pay the dealership for their time, thus it may be harder to negotiate the price of the car
  4. the person may feel a bit of pressure when going this route to purchase their car since these salesman are paid to get people to buy this car

Private Sellers

When going through a private seller the person will find that they can usually find the car listed in Auto trader books or even in the classified section of the newspaper that they read. This offers some pros and cons as well:

  1. usually when buying private the person can get a lower price
  2. They do have the opportunity to see and test drive this vehicle
  3. They will not get any type of warranty with the car since they are buying private
  4. They will usually be required to pay cash for the car when buying from a private seller as well

Places to Find Parts for Cars

When it comes to finding the parts that you need for your car, you will find several options, many of which are overlapping with finding the car as well.

  1. Websites
  2. Junk yards
  3. Dealerships
  4. Parts stores
  5. Websites for Parts

    There are tons of website out there that are devoted to carrying the after market parts or the market parts that the person needs for their car. They will also find that this is a great source for the accessories parts that the person may be needing. They do need to keep in mind though:

  1. Always buy from a reputable dealer online so that you are not being taken advantage of
  2. always buy for your make, model and year to ensure a perfect fit
  3. check for warranty information on the part, especially if you are uncertain that it will work for your or not

Junkyards for Parts

These are places that are full of treasures for much lower prices than what the person would pay for if they went somewhere else. The junk yards have older cars as well as newer cars that have more than likely been wrecked or something along that lines, but the person will find that some of these parts are still able to be used. The pros and cons of using junk yards to find the part that you need are:

  1. You will get a much lower price, and any time a person can save money that is always a good day
  2. In most cases you will have to pull off the part yourself, which means that you will have to invest the work to get this done, hence the reason why it is so much cheaper to use this option to find the parts that you need

Dealerships for Parts

Dealerships will have some parts on hand for those that are needing them. Usually these parts are those that are only released by the company and therefore dealers have the rights to sell these, while other places do not. The person can expect:

  1. To pay more for these parts
  2. Have to order them ahead of time

Though, when buying for the dealer, the person will find that they are the perfect fit for their car and that they are going to have something that works.

Buying Parts from a Parts Store

There are many auto parts stores that are going to be carrying the parts that are going to be needed by those that have a car. With these options, the person may find:

  1. that they can get these cheaper since they can sometimes buy a generic part that will work with their car
  2. find a lower price on these parts

However, with that being said some drawbacks to using parts stores:

  1. You could be given the wrong part, which means another trip to the store and another wait time to get this
  2. On some parts, the person will find that they have to wait a few days in order to get this.

For the most part, finding the car and the parts that go with the car are relatively easy to do if the person knows where they should start looking. Always remember to:

  1. get the part that fits your car to avoid frustration
  2. ask questions if you have them
  3. do business with those that you can trust.

When it comes to finding different types of cars and parts the person is only limited by themselves. They will find that any way to get what they need is going to be something that they can approach from several different angles.
