Special Edition Dodge 392 Hemi
Despite Chrysler’s financial up and downs, the automaker has managed to bring to the public great design in cars at a good price. Looks is what describes Chrysler vehicles. The PT Cruiser was a hit that encouraged other automakers to bring classic carsversions back to the future. Now, Chrysler is doing it again with its Dodge Challenger SRT-8 for 2011. This reinvention of the great and well liked 392-inch Hemi V-8 is certainly going to capture the attention of many drivers. The original 392 was a 1952 vehicle, and it was very popular, especially for drag racing. It got the name of 92, instead.
Chrysler Group LLC will spark the launch with 1,492 Special Edition models of the Challenger SRT-8 392. Although a previous Challenger had been brought back by Dodge, this one is very special – it has an increase in engine power (470 lb – ft torque), better shocks and suspension, much improved aerodynamics and exterior looks, and better fuel efficiency as well. The cars will be numbered from 1 to 1,492 on the inaugural series, and the number will be stamped on a dashboard plaque. New owners of these vehicles will be proud of owning such a great remake and can show the power by the 392 logo that is being embroidered on the front seats of the Challenger.
It is expected that this model will be a hit with young drivers as well as bring memories to older generals who loved the original model. One thing is for sure; Chrysler knows how to bring the past to the present in style, looks, new performance, and at a great price. How the new Dodge Challenger SRT-8 is received by the general public remains to be seen, however, in this model looks are not deceiving. The Dodge Challenger SRT-8 will certainly capture the attention of many car lover’s and hopefully will be here to stay for many more years to come.
