Tornadoes Affect Auto Makers

The violent tornadoes that have ripped across the southern half of the nation has affected thousands of people, killing hundreds and leaving many people without a home to go to. There has also been some affects on the local auto makers in the area that are having to stop their production due to tornadoes that went on the rampage across Alabama. In Alabama, the Toyota and Mercedes factories are shutting down since they are trying to access the damage that has affected the area.

The Mercedes factory in the area are making the GL, M and R class vehicles. Mercedes has said that they are closing the plants since no suppliers can even get into the area since there is so much damage in the area. The Mercedes plant is located in Tuscaloosa.

In Huntsville, Alabama, the Toyota plant has been shut down since the tornado hit because they have been without power and could be so for the rest of this week or even into next week.

Across the nation where these tornadoes hit, there has been manufacturers and parts suppliers all over. Not to mention that there has been extensive hail damage in some areas to the dealers. Most people are asking themselves if the bad weather is going to stop soon so that they can start the process of making the effort to clean up some of the mess and so forth. However, bad weather is still in the areas that have been affected, so right now no one really knows what the future holds.

Those auto plants that are in these areas, even those that have not sustained damage are still unsure of whether to start back production. With all the people that have been affected in the area, the plant may not even have workers who could get to the plant with all the debris in the roads.
