Chrysler Temporary Shut Down of Ontario Plant

The Ontario plant for Chrysler that makes the Windsor is going to be shutting down this week. However, contrary to the automatic thoughts that most people are having about the shut down being related to the happenings in Japan, Chrysler is assuring people that this is not why the plant is shutting down. Though, they are shutting down because they are missing two components of these minivans that are needed in order to have them running correctly. A source close to Chrysler, stated that one component was for the engine that is considered a secondary component of the engine.

This is the second time this year in which this particular plant has closed down. For a week in January, the plant closed down once again for a parts related problem. Once again citing that the problem was with suppliers not making enough to supply the demand that the automaker was needing.

However, with the timing of the shutdown following so many other plants going the same route of action, many people are wondering what is next for the auto market? Not being able to meet their own demands for their sales due to part shortages is one thing. However, most consumers are worried what is going to happen when there are simply no more parts to be found in the world for these new vehicles. What will happen to those that work for the auto giants that are being affected?

People may speak of a growing economy, however, with all the shutdowns of plants, the reduced production and likewise, reduced sales, it would seem that the economy is taking a step backwards instead of forward.

With all this news, one segment of the auto world is likely to see an increase in sales and that is going to be the used cars department. With the rise of prices at the pump, those that are wanting to save money are going to turn to any kind of smaller vehicle that they can find in order to make the adjustment and save the money.
