The Future of Porsche

The Geneva Auto Show will be held in March and there is already news of what will be displayed and unveiled at the auto show. Porsche is debating on whether they should start offering a diesel version of the Cayenne SUV and the Panamera sedan that they sell in the United States, the largest market for the automaker. The sudden interest producing diesel vehicles is because the company has noticed that people are buying diesel vehicles in the United States, however, the pickings are slim, thus Porsche is hoping that it could increase their sales through the offering the diesel versions of these vehicles.

Right now, Porsche is having one of the best years thus far that it has had in the last few years. They are expecting to have at least 100,000 units sold this year, and they believe that by offering diesel versions of the Cayenne and the Panamera that those numbers could possibly increase. Porsche states that they have not posted such good sale numbers until 2007 before the turn of the economy.

On top of offering diesel options in their most popular vehicles in the United States, Porsche is also planning to expand their dealerships in Brazil, Russia, India and China. They are hoping with the increased number of dealers that the sales will increase. However, the company is relying upon the Cayenne and the Panamera in order to really increase their sales in their most significant markets.

The future of Porsche looks bright as they are becoming a more dominant force in the auto market. With the technology that Porsche is introducing into their vehicles they are increasing the fuel economy of most of their vehicles. Plus, Porsche has always been known for their quality craftsmanship, therefore, those that can afford these vehicles are purchasing them. The Geneva Show, in most people's opinions, is going to be where Porsche is going to make a huge presence.
