Hyundai Lacking Behind in Dealerships

Analysts are stating that these days are the days of success for Hyundai. They state that the sales for Hyundai has been up since 2008 and it does not show any signs of stopping any time soon. However, there is one area in which the automaker is lagging behind and that is the profit that dealerships are making when compared to other brand dealerships out there. The reason that the profit for dealerships has been slowed down deals with the fact that the companies are suffering from limited sales that deal with used cars and the fact that the new vehicles are on a tight supply.

For 2010, analysts have estimated that those who run a Hyundai dealership see around 1.9% of the sales as their profit. However, though this is up from past years, it still is no comparison for the other dealers that deal with Toyota, Chevrolet, and other makers in which come away with around 3% of their sales for the year.

Hyundai does acknowledge that they simply do not have the cars to have much of a used car inventory on most dealership lots, nor do they have the availability of new vehicles to make a drastic splash into the pool. Most dealerships that are handling Hyundai point out that they have almost half the number of new vehicles that they would want to have, and when it comes times to make sales, they often feel that they could have sold more if they only have more inventory.

So what is the automaker going to do? Right now they are focusing on building up the dealerships that they have and making sure that they have their needs met in order to meet the needs of the consumer market. There are still many people considering opening a Hyundai dealer, so we may see these popping up in the future and this will improve the way that the automaker is looked at.
