Fuel Efficient Vehicles for 2011

Gas prices are high, and they show no signs of stopping just yet. Which means that those who are driving these bigger vehicles are going to feel the crunch of paying over three dollars per gallon for unleaded gasoline. And what is more disturbing is that analysts do not see the price of gas getting any lower any time soon, many are pointing out that we are going to end up paying over four dollars per gallon by the time that everything is said and done. For consumers, this means finding ways to save gas, for automakers this means that they are going to benefit from selling more fuel efficient vehicles.

For those that are heading out to the car lots in order to find a more fuel efficient vehicle, there are many on the market to consider. For those that want electric, they can consider the Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan Leaf, however, these are only going to be found in a few select cities, which means that the rest of the consumers are going to have to make due with what options they have.

In terms of fuel mileage, the Toyota Prius Hybrid is one of the most fuel efficient models on the market, getting around 51 miles per gallon in the city and 48 miles per gallon on the highway. Tied at second place is the 2011 Ford Fushion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, with each getting 41 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway. And finishing the top five fuel efficient vehicles for 2011, tying for fourth and fifth place is the 2011 Honda Civic Hybrid and Honda Insight Hybrid. Each vehicle gets 40 miles per gallon in the city and 43 miles per gallon on the highway. So for those that are trading in their gas guzzler and want the best that they can get, these five cars are going to be your best options.
