Toyota Prius is the Most Fuel-Efficient Car in the US

The EPA reported that the Prius offers 48 mpg on the highway and 51 mpg in the city, which makes it the most-efficient car in the US. The Bugatti Veyron is the least-efficient car, which delivers 15 mpg on the highway and 8 mpg in the city.

Three Ford car models appear on the number two position of the EPA’s 2011 fuel-economy top-ten list. These are the 2011 Mercury Milan, Lincoln MKZ Hybrid 2011 and 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Each offers 36 mpg on the highway and 41 mpg in the city. The second worst in fuel economy was the 2011 Ford E-350 Wagon with 13 mpg on the highway and 10 mpg in the city.

As expected, there are some of the best vehicles in the market which make it into “the worst fuel economy” list. It includes the new 2011 Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG that offers 13 mpg on the highway and 11 mpg in the city. The Bentley Continental Flying Spur is also in the “worst” list, along with the 2011 Bentley Continental GTC, Rolls-Royce Phantom, Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé and Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe. All of these cars deliver 18 mpg on the highway and 11 mpg in the city.

Toyota has made quite a strong impression in the “most efficient” list. Two of its car models are included in the list, 2011 Lexus RX 450h and Lexus 250h HS 2011. Several Honda cars have also made it into the “most efficient” list. These include the Honda Insight Hybrid and 2011 and Honda Civic Hybrid 2011.
