GM Luring Customers With Small Cars

GM is considering anything that will give them an edge with the consumer market, including the idea of using continuously variable transmissions in some of their smaller cars in order for the car to get better fuel economy. However, as of right now the use of these types of transmissions is still a topic of discussion and are not being used. If they were to be used, the transmissions would go into those smaller cars like the Cruze, Aveo and Spark. In addition, they are also considering using turbocharged engines on these smaller cars to increase performance. 

 

Why is GM taking the time to make sure that their small car line is pleasing to consumers? Simply because they are trying to win more business, and most consumers are purchasing these smaller cars that have great gas mileage because they are much easier on the budget. So the goal is for GM to produce a small car that is not only pleasing to the eye, but also operates efficiently, which is a daunting task to say the least. However, they may be further ahead in the game that many people who have predicted with the upcoming release of the new GM Spark. 

 

Not much is known about the Spark as of yet, all that GM officials have said is that the car is going to be sporty, small so that the consumers know that they are getting a good car for gas mileage, but it will also be roomy and top of the line. It is not known where the car is being manufactured, however, it is known that it will be manufactured in North America. 

 

GM has the right idea in how to steer customers to the brand, however, now it is a sit and wait game as they reveal their new smaller cars, to see just how the public is going to take this new direction that GM is going with. However, with the recent luck that GM has had, most people believe that will find success.
