Toyota Receives Good News for First Time in Months

Good news for Toyota as the Government has released their findings after a ten month investigation of the reasons why certain Toyota's and Lexus vehicles were having acceleration and braking problems. When these incidents started to happen Toyota said that the problem was due to the floor mat getting stuck and either causing the gas pedal to push down or not allowing the brake pedal to be pushed down to its fullest extent. At the urging of Congress, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration along with the help of NASA researchers began to test these vehicles, and their results show that there was nothing wrong with the electrical system or the electric throttle that caused these cars to have problems.

For the past several months Toyota has been trying to get away from the reputation that the recalls had left the company with. However, it seems as though it is a never ending circle, as everyday news about Toyota and the recalls are being announced. However, this latest news does help Toyota out a little bit. At least people know that the electrical systems were not to blame for the accidents and lives lost.

The NHTSA and NASA both have commented that Toyota was amazing throughout the investigation process, as they too were wanting to rule out the electrical system being the cause of the problem. The car maker did their own investigation into the matter and found the same results, however, with these agencies backing that information up, it means much more to the public.

Will this news help out Toyota? This is debatable. The company is still involved in their fair share of lawsuits and will remain involved for quite some time to come. This is going to be constantly reminding people of the mess. However, with this new news, at least it goes to prove that Toyota is working towards the right direction.
