Chevrolet Caprice Sent to Police Stations

When the Pontiac G8 left the market, most people were wondering if they would ever see a car that was based off of the same platform. However, the time has come that GM has released a car that is based off of the same platform. Though, not just anyone is going to be able to get this car. It is the new Chevrolet Caprice that is being delivered to police stations. The automaker has not said just which police stations that they have delivered these Caprice's too, however, there were around twenty-three models sent out.

The police force of vehicles is one that is up for grabs this year since Ford is no longer going to be producing the ever popular Crown to add to the line up of police cars. Thus, GM is hoping that the Chevrolet Caprice is going to take off with the police officers. The car comes in either a V6 engine or V8 engine depending on the specific uses for the vehicle, whether it will be involved in pulling people over or just routine driving.

However, at this time there is no idea to make the Caprice available to the public. It is strictly just something that the police will be using. Many people have pointed out that this will make the idea of finding a cop much easier since they are going to be driving such noticeable cars. However, whether it will or not, looking out for Caprice in your rear view mirror is something that most people are going to take a while to get used to.

In three to five years, once the 2011 Caprice does become old, we can expect to see these cars hitting the lots of dealerships, as he police force looks for the newest vehicle once again. And it is then that we will see some consumers rocking the Caprice on their drive to work.
