Ford Improving Gas Mileage on Many Vehicles

Ford has announced that they will be offering four cars that are estimated to get around forty miles per gallon, which is sure to turn some people into the direction of Ford Motor Company for their next vehicle. Three of the vehicles are the 2011 versions of the Fiesta, Fushion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, which have all passed and been approved by the EPA to get at least forty miles per gallon on the highway and an estimated forty-one miles per gallon in the city.

 

In addition, and perhaps the one vehicle that most people are looking forward to is the 2012 Ford Focus, that will be offering 2.0 liter engine with a six speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Ford has made fuel economy a main aspect of the company, and is the first company to offer four vehicles that get over forty miles per gallon. Which many are predicting, will help raise the profits that Ford will be receiving over the next year as more and more people want those vehicles that are saving gas.

 

On top of these astounding vehicles, Ford has also made headway with more of their vehicles in improving the gas mileage. For instance, the 2011 F-150 was given an all new engine which helped improve fuel economy by around 20%, having the vehicle deliver seventeen miles per gallon in the city and twenty-three miles per gallon on the highway. The Mustang is another vehicle that has improved gas mileage with now getting thirty-one miles per gallon on the highway.

 

In addition, Ford has taken some funds and invested this into EcoBoost engines. These are engines that are direct injected, turbo charged engines that improve fuel economy. On average, the EcoBoost engine that improved fuel economy by around 20%, while reducing the emissions of carbon by 15%, overall a greener alternative to what Ford was previously using. EcoBoost will be set into certain vehicles by 2011, which means consumers have yet another thing to be excited for.
