GM Makes Recall

The General Motors Company is the latest company to be handing out recall notices to its consumers. The good news is that the recall is not one that is considered life threatening, however, it could prove to cause some discomfort. The company is recalling the 2011 Buick LaCrosse and the 2011Cadillac SRX. The reason for the recall is related to the heating, air and ventilation of these vehicles.

According to their findings there seems to be a glitch in the software of the vehicles that are not allowing people to adjust the heat or cold, or allowing for the defrost to clear the windows. Though this is not life threatening, it can definitely prove to be a pain in the owner's life, especially if they live in colder climates where defrost is needed.

Because of this defect, the vehicles are not compiling with rules and regulations set in place by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for defrosting standards. The company is expected to start informing the owners of the recall by the end of the month. However, the good news for General Motors is that there is only about 10, 179 of these vehicles that are being affected. Which is an extremely small number compared to some of the recalls that have been taking place recently from other manufacturers.

The question is whether this recall is going to affect the sales that General Motors is having? After all, they are starting out the year strong. However, most people agree that since this is not a recall that related to the ability to drive the vehicle safely that General Motors can rest assure that they are not going to lose customers over the problem. If anything, it shows that they are thinking of the consumers since they are going ahead and fixing a problem that they have found with the vehicles which shows good consumer support.
