Make It or Break It Time for Honda

Honda recently posted around a 16% increase in sales for the month of November, which puts them ahead of Toyota, their main competitor. However, many professionals are saying that, despite this increase in sales, Honda is no longer appealing to the public as it once was. The reason? Many people are finding that their cars are just not having that edge that other vehicles have. For example, their best selling car the Honda Civic, has been unchanged for years. Yes, there have been a few improvements here and there, but ultimately the public has lost interest.

Honda is taking this time to make sure that they are still competitors in the auto world and are making drastic changes to their Honda Civic. But will this be enough? Professionals are pointing out that many of the new cars that company is producing are just not making the cut. For example, the Acura ZDX. Which many people have never heard of, and that is why the professional world believes that Honda is losing out.

When looking at the history of Honda, the company seems to perform well when the market is down. However, as the market improves, Honda becomes less and less desirable. Many professionals are pointing this out as being the main flaw of the company since all figures are pointing to the market beginning to revitalize. This could mean that Honda is left in the dust. Especially since Honda has a stance in which they are not forcing their brand on the public, unlike other automakers who advertise constantly and offer great deals for consumers to purchase one of their vehicles.

With the new Honda Civic getting ready to make its debut at the Detroit Auto Show, this is literally going to be the sink or swim time for Honda. If the car does not do that well, then the Honda brand could become extinct over time. On the other hand if the car is accepted, this could mean a whole new world for Honda.
