Honda Issues 700,000 Recall

seems that recent the recalls made by major automakers have been rolling in with force. The reason behind this could be the new technologies that automakers are using that are just not holding up as well in the public as the automaker had originally thought. However, in most cases, it seems that those plants that are manufacturing the components of these vehicles are just not putting the time and care into the parts to make sure that they are formatted correctly. This seems to be the case with Honda who has recently recalled around 700,000 vehicles worldwide.

The cars being affected are the small cars, the Fit, Freed and City. The defective part is a spring in the engine compartment that could cause the vehicle to stall. According to the research that the company has done, the spring that is placed in a small box in the engine was not fitted properly, thus it could cause the engine to stall. Thus far, there has been no accidents or deaths reported related to the recall. However, there has been numerous complaints and fried nerves when the car stalls out for the consumer.

There has been 72 complaints filed aboard concerning the problem, with 29 complaints filled in the United States relating to the problem. Of the 700,000 that are being recalled, 129,000 of those are in the United States. While the bulk majority are in Asia, around 233,000. The rest of the numbers are coming from Japan and China.

Honda is urging those that have the vehicles that are affected to contact Honda to see if their Fit, Freed and City are being affected through the website or the consumer phone number. The good thing about this recall is that it should not take long for Honda to fix and it should not cause anyone to have a wreck while driving the vehicle and waiting for their time to have the car fixed.
