Honda Shakes up Corporate Offices

Honda is making some drastic changes in their management departments. The company plans to make their number of directors on the board consists of twelve people, which means that eight people will be demoted or given another job in order to stay with the company. Of those eight positions, one position that is being let go is the American head honcho of Honda. However, this does not mean that the American Honda division will no longer have a director. The current person is this position is Tetsuo Iwamura. He will no longer be on the board, but he will still have the same responsibilities that he did before within the American Honda division.

So many wonder why Honda is even making this changes, especially if people are going to keep their same job? The goal of Honda is to make the decision process much faster than it was before. Therefore, they are going to be able to stream line major decision directly to the smaller board and hopefully reach a decision in much less time because there are not as many people who will disagree with one another.

Honda is hoping that the new arrangement of things will also help the overall working of things. They are hoping that the regional directors will be able to focus more on their region without worrying about things at the corporate level, which was the problem that the company was finding with the way that things were working before the decision to reorganize.

There are quite a few big changes with the higher officials in the company. Many are being put into similar positions in different parts of the company and those other companies that make up part of Honda. For example, Tsuneo Tanai is being appointed as the new president of Keihlin Corp, while the current President Takanobu will be given the position of head of the automobile unit.
