Ford Announces Changes for Lincoln

Ford gave the option to many Lincoln dealers to go ahead and get out of the game, and many dealers took the car company up on the offer and did get out while they still had the chance to avoid costly repairs and dramatic changes. However, there are still those Lincoln dealers that stuck with the company and are ready to make the changes that Ford wants in an effort to revive the Lincoln brand.

Ford has finally made public the changes that Lincoln is going to be going through in the next few months. The first being that Lincoln dealers will begin offering 'owner privileges'. This is where Ford has demanded that Lincoln offer hand car washes to those owners of Lincoln, or finding them a rental car when they are bringing their car in for maintenance. It is meant to be a reason for people to want to purchase Lincoln.

All the signs for Lincoln dealers are going to be replaced with the logo of Lincoln, removing the Mercury logo since the brand is no longer in production. In addition, Ford is requiring that each dealer have its own Lincoln sales staff and dedicated manager so that people are guaranteed to get the service that they deserve.

In regard to what the person offers on their lot, when offering used cars, Ford is mandating that at least 30% of the used cars offered must be certified pre-owned. Thus far, this is the only information that Ford has released in regard to changes that the company will be making. However, Ford does have more in future for the Lincoln brand and dealers.

The changes are going to help the Lincoln brand to become more dominant in the auto market, which is the goal of Ford. However, many people are worried that with such strict regulations going into place that Lincoln will not be able to thrive and many dealers will simply step away from the business.
