Leaf Commercial Strikes at Volt

With most people thinking about the newest technology that is out there in terms of car offerings, there are two clear top winners that come to mind, and this is the Nissan Leaf and the Chevrolet Volt. Those that know of these two vehicles know that they are the highest technology that is being offered on the market right now. And they also know that the two are arch rivals and are taking every opportunity that they can in order to discourage consumers to buy the other brand. And Nissan has taken this rivalry a bit farther with their new advertisement for the Nissan Leaf.

The new commercials made by Nissan have a Chevrolet Volt driver standing at the pump filling up, while the Nissan Leaf driver simply unplugs their car and drives away. They are hoping to drive home the point that the Nissan Leaf is not the typical hybrid and is fully electric which offers some benefits. In recent months the two automakers have been taking swipes at one another debating on which car is actually the best, with both automakers making claims to their technology.

The new television ad is going a step further to poke the truth at Chevrolet, that their Volt is not entirely electric, unlike the Nissan Leaf. Will this type of advertisement work in order to get people to consider the Nissan Leaf as their car? Most people are still a bit hesitant since Nissan still has 20,000 orders of Leaf's to fulfill. Thus, most people are wanting to make sure that they can get a car like this sooner, rather than later. Though, Nissan has said that they plan to have all the pre-ordered Leaf's to their customers by the end of summer.

Now we are just going to have to sit back and wait for the rebuttal from Chevrolet, which most are sure will come soon.
